Hey there John, it's Carly with Sunrise

Last week, Trump got Jimmy Kimmel fired. He is trying to crack down on dissent: from late night talk show hosts to movements like ours.

That’s why we quickly organized a comedy roast of Donald Trump outside the Disney store in Times Square. People around the country turned up the pressure, boycotting Disney and holding protests around the country.

Jimmy Kimmel’s removal was swiftly reversed. The takeaway is clear. Disruption works. Not cooperating works. Boycotts work. We need to do it more.

Can you chip in $20 to support young organizers prepare for the next time we need to push back against a deranged authoritarian? [[link removed]]
It's important to ask: what can we learn from this? Institutions - from colleges to media outlets - are pre-emptively surrendering to Trump. When they do, we have to push back. We can only use that power if we organize.

* When we organize together, we can:
* Demand our politicians condemn these blatant power grabs.
* Boycott businesses that cave pre-emptively.
* Pressure advertisers
* Disrupt their business operations with protests and other actions.

Organizing doesn’t happen out of nowhere. It takes months and years of building in communities, and it takes resources to support organizers.

Can you chip in $20 to grow our youth movement against authoritarianism? [[link removed]]
In solidarity,
Carly
