They compared it to the Panopticon — a prison where a single guard watches from a central tower, and prisoners fall in line because they think they’re being watched. Even when they’re not.
That's how authoritarianism creeps in. It's a chilling effect. You stop speaking out. You self-censor. You start to wonder: "What will they do to me if I say something?”
And last week, something deeply disturbing happened.
Jimmy Kimmel’s show was suspended after he made comments about Charlie Kirk. Let’s be clear: a late-night host losing his platform for criticizing a right-wing extremist is a massive redline — not just for democracy, but for free speech.
