Saving Lost Boys
Once again, Erika Kirk miraculously mustered the strength and courage to address not just the huge audience at State Farm Stadium, but millions of people watching here and around the world. When talking about her husband’s mission, she brought up the sons of freedom:
“Charlie passionately wanted to reach and save the lost boys of the West: the young men who feel like they have no direction, no purpose, no faith, and no reason to live. The men wasting their lives on distractions and the men consumed with resentment, anger, and hate.
“Charlie wanted to help them. He wanted them to have a home with Turning Point USA. And when he went onto campus, he was looking to show them a better path and a better life that was right there for the taking, if you wanted to see it.”
“To reach and save the lost boys of the West.” That phrase ought to be put in neon lights. Boys in every Western country have been marginalized, raised without fathers, and told they’re toxic. They don’t know what they’re supposed to do to be acceptable again.
They are facing harsh job prospects. They are being buried by a wave of migrants willing to work for next to nothing. They’re being told the country of their birth is evil, and, in many cases, that they may be inherently evil, too.
We must save the boys of the West. We can do that by pointing them toward God and encouraging them to find their purpose in faith, family, and freedom.
The Widow’s Forgiveness & The President’s Justice
Some have criticized Erika Kirk for saying that she forgave her husband’s killer. We should be careful before criticizing a widow of only 11 days.
Think about this, however. While Erika Kirk was forgiving her husband’s assassin, the killer’s allies continued their hate fest right through yesterday’s memorial service. They expressed contempt for Erika because she loved and married Charlie. They said her children were better off without a father like him. Some said they couldn’t wait to turn Erika and Charlie’s children into transgenders!
What about President Trump’s remarks? Some have criticized him because he made it clear he could not and would not forgive the murderer as Erika said she had. President Trump’s position is biblical. Donald Trump is not supposed to forgive her husband’s murderer or anyone else’s murderer.
As president, he is at the top of our civil authorities. The Bible is clear that the civil authorities are not called to forgive; they are called to administer justice to those who have violated our laws.
It’s also been noted that after Charlie Kirk was murdered, there were no riots. Actually, there were riots. Multiple vigils for Charlie Kirk were violently interrupted and shut down by leftists attackers.
When thousands gathered in Boston for a vigil honoring Charlie Kirk, leftists showed up and the police shut the vigil down, citing “safety concerns.” Well, what was the concern? It wasn’t the people peacefully remembering Charlie Kirk. The concern was that the leftists who hated Charlie would become violent.
So, the Left kills one of our leaders, and then they riot when we gather to honor that slain leader.
The Hate Continues
Ilhan Omar was asked on CNN to comment on the “jarring” remarks by so many hateful leftists in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. This was a softball question, a slow pitch she could easily knock out of the park with a simple, graceful statement of sympathy for Charlie’s widow and children. But Omar is incapable of doing that. She said:
“What I find jarring is that there’s so many people willing to excuse the most reprehensible things that he said, that they agree with that, that they’re willing to have monuments for him, that they want to create a day to honor him, and that they want to produce resolutions in the House of Congress honoring his life and legacy.
“It is one thing to care about his life. . . But I am not going to sit here and be judged for not wanting to honor any legacy this man has left behind. That should be in the dustbin of history, and we should hopefully move on and forget the hate that he spewed every single day.”
A far-left radical in California was arrested for opening fire on a local ABC affiliate because ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel.
A man went into a New Hampshire country club and opened fire, killing one person, while yelling, “Free Palestine!”
At least a dozen elected Democrats, including a Democrat congressional candidate, physically attacked immigration police making arrests in Chicago.
Finally, California Governor Gavin Newsom held a press conference Saturday promoting a series of bills he just signed into law. Some are blatantly unconstitutional. As he was bragging about those new laws, his press office issued this statement on social media, “Kristi Noem is going to have a bad day today. You’re welcome, America.”
That was the exact taunt aimed at Charlie Kirk in the weeks leading up to his assassination. What did the governor’s press office mean? The Secret Service is investigating.
