What I faced is only a fraction of what migrant families endure every single day at the hands of ICE.
These stormtroopers of Trump’s fascist regime are the real criminals: racial profiling, raiding homes, deporting people without due process, and locking human beings in hellholes like “Alligator Alcatraz,” where human rights don’t exist and migrants are disappearing.
This is the fight of our lives. I won’t back down from confronting fascism — not when ICE is terrorizing our neighbors, not when our rights are under attack, and not when my community is calling on me to lead. I am unafraid — of tear gas, of rubber bullets, or even of arrest.
And I have been leading in this fight before I was even a candidate — canvassing businesses and neighborhoods to make sure my community knows their rights, standing side by side with families under attack, and showing up in the streets.
