In the wake of the Dobbs decision, the pro-life movement in America entered a new chapter. For the first time in fifty years, the Supreme Court affirmed that the Constitution does not protect abortion -- and in the process, returned the authority to defend life to legislators.
That decision, combined with the shuttering of abortion facilities across the country, means abortion in America should be on the decline and lives should be saved. Tragically, that is not the case.
Abortion numbers have not fallen. In fact, they have risen -- topping one million per year since Dobbs. Why? Because of the abortion drug, mifepristone.
During the Biden administration, critical safety standards were gutted and longstanding laws like the Comstock Act, which says abortion materials cannot be sent through the mail, were unenforced. This unleashed abortion drugs into the mail system and into communities where pro-life laws were adopted by lawmakers after the Dobbs decision acknowledged their right to protect mothers and their children. These reckless federal policies have left women vulnerable to life-threatening complications -- studies show that more than 10% of women who take the abortion drug are affected.
While we are working with the Trump administration to reverse these dangerous policies, they have yet to do so.
That is why FRC launched a nationwide petition urging the FDA and DOJ to act, rallied pastors from 22 states to call on the White House to end mail-order abortion, and hosted Lift Up Life Day -- a national broadcast of prayer and fasting on the third anniversary of Dobbs, where we united Christians to call on God for mercy and justice.

Even as Planned Parenthood's empire shrinks, the pro-abortion lobby has shifted its strategy. Brick and mortar clinics are closing their doors, but abortionists are modernizing and shipping dangerous drugs with the click of a button through the internet.

That figure alone is staggering, but it's important to remember the broader context as well. Since Roe v. Wade was handed down in 1973, 63 million unborn babies have lost their lives due to abortion.
But now, with Roe overturned, we shouldn't see that number continue to climb, especially not at such a rapid rate.
That is why FRC is mobilizing believers, equipping lawmakers, and advancing policy at the federal and state levels. We will not allow this "mailbox pipeline" of death to undo the victory of Dobbs.

The pro-abortion movement thrives on perverse morality and lies -- lies that we must defeat and banish from our public square. Earlier this month, Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) went so far as to argue that rights do not come from God but from laws and the state.
