Dear Friend,
What gives me hope, even in these challenging times, is the strength of our South Jersey community. Together we will never stop fighting for our democracy and equal opportunity. I want to update you on how I continue to be your voice in Congress. From cracking down on union busting and making it easier for workers who voted to join a union to get their first contract, to defending our veterans, to standing up against discrimination, to celebrating our community, I’m focused on delivering results that make life better for you.
Introducing the Faster Labor Contracts Act
 |
Congressman Norcross holds a press conference to announce introduction of the Faster Labor Contracts Act.
|
It takes 458 days on average for unions to get their first contract. That's not by accident.
Last week, I introduced the Faster Labor Contracts Act with Representative Pete Stauber of Minnesota and Teamsters President Sean O’Brien. This bipartisan bill will speed up the process of securing a collective bargaining agreement between a newly unionized group of workers and their employer. It requires negotiations to start 10 days after workers vote to unionize.
I know how important the right to organize is because I have lived it. As someone who has sat across the bargaining table, I have seen how collective bargaining improves wages, hours, and working conditions. The Faster Labor Contracts Act will make sure employers come to the table quickly and in good faith instead of dragging out contract negotiations.
Supporting our Veterans and Honoring their Service
|
Congressman Norcross meets with “Doc” from the Veterans of Foreign Wars. |
I welcomed Jay “Doc” Boxwell Jr. from the New Jersey Veterans of Foreign Wars to my DC office where we talked about the challenges facing our veterans. It was an honor to thank one of our heroes for his service.
Our veterans made a promise to defend this country, and now we must keep our promise to them. Trump has not only attacked workers at the Department of Defense but has also gone after the services our veterans rely on.
As the father of a veteran, I will always work to defend the benefits our veterans have earned and to protect the dignity and respect they deserve. We owe our heroes every opportunity to succeed when they return home, and I will keep supporting efforts that honor their service.
Fighting to Stop ICE Agents from Racial Profiling
 |
Congressman Norcross signed onto a letter calling on DHS to stop racial profiling.
|
ICE agents should not be allowed to target people based on race or language. I recently signed a letter with 65+ colleagues demanding DHS stop unconstitutional racial profiling and be held accountable. I will fight for transparency from this Administration, because New Jersey deserves answers. Immigrants make our nation stronger, and I will always stand up for their basic human rights.
Haddon Township Fall Festival

Congressman Norcross attends the Haddon Township Fall Festival. |
With all the chaos in Washington, there is nothing better than getting to spend a Saturday in the district with you. It was great to see so many new and familiar faces at the Haddon Township Fall Festival earlier this month!
