John, I know we’ve been sending a lot of emails lately, and you may be wondering why.

Why is it that I need to raise money now, even though I just won this race last November? Why is it that things feel so urgent so soon?

I want to answer these questions directly and honestly:
  1. I represent one of the most competitive districts in the country, and it happens to be in one of the most expensive media markets in America. Running ads here costs upwards of 16x (!!!) more than other congressional districts.

  2. I flipped a Republican-held seat by just 653 votes, and national Republicans have already made it clear they’re targeting me. The same super PACs who shattered spending records trying to defeat me in 2024 are gearing up to do it again.

  3. I’m not a self-funder and I don’t take money from Big Pharma or Big Oil to fund my campaign. I depend on grassroots support -- people chipping in whatever they can -- so I can stay in this fight.
I know it feels early, John, but our end-of-quarter deadline is just days away and the stakes could not be higher. So, if you’re going to make a contribution toward our shared fight, I hope it’s today and I hope it's through this email.
