Missouri voters just filed a major lawsuit to block an extreme Republican gerrymander — one that would lock in GOP power and silence Democratic voices for the next decade.

Their claim is simple: the map violates the state constitution’s promise of fair representation.

But this is bigger than Missouri. Because what’s happening there is part of a coordinated, nationwide assault on democracy.
