John,
A crucial part of our mission to elect pro-choice women leaders is that we build a bench that truly represents our state’s diverse population.
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we are celebrating Florida’s Latina leaders. From the School Board, to City Councils, and the State House, Hispanic women are some of our state’s most powerful voices for justice and progress. Can you join us in thanking Florida’s pro-choice Latinas in office for their leadership by signing this card? [[link removed]]

Today, more than 26% of Florida residents identify as Hispanic/Latino, but our elected leadership does not reflect this reality in many parts of the state. For example, of the 160 members of the State Legislature, only 10% identify as Hispanic – with only two of those members serving as Democrats. Hispanic Democratic women are one of the most underrepresented groups at the state level.
Though they are severely underrepresented, there is no shortage of Latina leaders stepping up to be a voice for their community and for women of all backgrounds. That’s why it matters to have an organization like Ruth’s List that is ready to invest in them in the early stages of their campaigns.
Together, we can build a bench of elected leadership that truly represents Florida.
