Friends,

Let me be clear: we don't particularly like politics. But we know that if we're not informed and engaged, we lose our seat at the table where critical policy decisions are made that affect our businesses, our workers, and our communities for generations to come.

Here's the reality: small and mid-sized businesses and local voices are being systematically left out of the conversation on the policies that matter most to our long-term success. While a consolidated group of corporate CEO’s with armies of lobbyists is shaping the public landscape. The impacts of policy and the political climate on American businesses are being silenced.

That's where the American Sustainable Business Network steps in. We've become something unexpected and essential: often the only voice of reason in the room because we represent the world as we need it to thrive, not a political belief or party. We fight for the policies that we need to have a thriving economy based on what is best for our communities and planet. Things like the future of worker safety standards, inclusive workforces, safer chemicals, environmental protections for our air and water, and agricultural policies that will impact food security for decades, and more.

This work requires infrastructure: trusted networks of business leaders; informed policy analysis; and strategic convenings that turn isolated voices into coordinated action. That is exactly what ASBN has been building across the country.

ASBN's mission is not just valuable—it is essential. We exist to:
* Amplify authentic business voices. When policymakers hear from ASBN members, they hear from real business owners dealing with real challenges, not talking points from corporate communications teams. That’s why we launched the Tell Your Story campaign ([link removed]) .
* Bridge the urban-rural divide. Our network spans from Main Street to metropolitan areas, ensuring that policy solutions work for businesses of all sizes and geographies. That’s why we established a growing list of State Affiliates ([link removed]) .
* Connect sustainable innovation to smart policy. We translate the on-the-ground experience of our members into practical policy recommendations that support both economic growth and environmental responsibility. We provide plentiful opportunities to become informed via Steering Committees, Policy Briefs, Quarterly Amplifiers and Policy Forums ([link removed]) .
* Build long-term thinking into short-term politics. While others focus on quarterly results, we advocate for policies that consider generational impacts on our communities, workers, and planet. We’ve been at this since 2009, and our work continues.

Two ways to support this critical work:

First, make a tax-deductible contribution today. Meeting this moment takes a huge amount of work to sift through the noise and provide real analysis and design engagement strategies to keep you informed and build the path forward. Your support keeps our policy advocacy strong and ensures that small and mid-sized business voices remain visible, protected, and amplified in the halls of power.

Second, join us where the real connections happen:register today for our virtual conference ([link removed]) taking place in just one month, this October 21-23, over three 3.5-hour days, and fully recorded for all registrants.

This isn't just another business event—it's where policy insights meet practical solutions, where you'll build relationships with fellow business leaders who share your values, and where you'll gain the knowledge and networks to make your voice heard on the issues that matter most to your business's future.

Consider the $250 registration a donation to ASBN and an investment in leveraging your voice and impact. Equity pricing is also available.

The choice is ours: we can let others make the decisions that shape our business environment, or we can show up, speak up, and ensure that the voice of responsible business is heard. I hope you'll stand with us.

With determination,

P.S.

Happy #ClimateWeek! I hope wherever you are this week that you are safe and able to contribute to the momentum of collective action.

Please make a tax-deductible contribution today and register for our conference to be part of the solution.
