Hi John!
Over the past month, the SV DSA has continued to do important work in the community. As part of the Boycott Chevron Coalition, the International Solidarity Working group brought over a dozen public speakers to the HLUET meeting to speak in favor of divestment from fossil fuel companies that help the Israeli military continue their genocide. The Mutual Aid Working Group has continued improving the community garden and running the free store, and the Labor Working Group is organizing support for the unionization efforts of Starbucks employees.
Come join us at our Chapter Meeting on Saturday, September 27, from 1 to 3 PM, both in person at the SEIU 521 Union Hall and virtually on Zoom. You can see the agenda here - we'll be voting on whether to endorse Proposition 50, which will redistrict California in response to Republicans' redistricting efforts in Texas. We'll also be considering whether to amend our bylaws to remove the ban on association with democratic centralism.
We'll also have the chance to charter two new working groups! Will we see you there?
In Solidarity,
SV DSA
