MONDAY E'NEWS Fall 2025 Board Meeting Summary Held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 5 PM EDT REPORTS June's meeting minutes were approved. There were 10,427 members as of 9.18.25, a 2.6% decrease from June 2025. The executive director provided a financial report and a recent legal fundraising report. Attorney Steve Dulan provided a confidential legal update. OLD BUSINESS MCRGO Election 2025 results were presented and discussed. Member-adopted bylaw amendments will be incorporated into a bylaws revision. NRA Freedom Fest attendance was heavy. MCRGO will expand its presence for 2026. MCRGO Upper Peninsula picnic attendance at Skandia was heavier than typical. Revised MCRGO CPL course materials will be presented at the annual meeting for approval. Lockton-Affinity has renewed MCRGO's general liability policy and D&O policy. MCRGO has cancelled its cyber policy, as Lockton-Affinity advised it was unnecessary. MCRGO's annual report has been filed with the State of Michigan's Corporations Division. Awards have been transferred to CrossPointe Community Church and to Derrick Perry. MCRGO has renewed its MUCC affiliation. Staff changes at MUCC were discussed. NEW BUSINESS MCRGO will return to Outdoorama and the Ultimate Sports Show this winter. The Southeast Michigan picnic for May 2026 is being discussed with the allied gun groups. MCRGO's picnic for the northern Lower Peninsula will return to Gaylord in June 2026. Marketing will be the focus of the final hour of the December annual meeting as time allows. The board adopted a motion in principle to invest in Dome IQ, pending a presentation of terms. Due to the steep decline in recent total statewide CPL numbers, the board requested the executive director send an informational letter to COVID pandemic era MCRGO CPL students advising of certificate expirations and CPL renewal requirements. The board approved hosting a CPL class for Congressman Bergman's staff in Marquette Co. NEW LEGISLATION The board supports House Bill 4803 pending amendments to tighten language as introduced. The board took no position on House Bill 4843, as it is beyond the scope of MCRGO's mission. The board supports House Bill 4949. The board supports a proposal from Michigan Open Carry for designated carry in school districts. That language has been presented to Representative Phil Green for legislative drafting.
