Kia ora ,
I’m Beth Houston, Labour’s Campaign Manager for the next general election. I’m delighted to be working with my Labour tribe again, excited for the campaign, and totally committed to helping Labour improve lives across the motu.
Here are two things I know already:
I know this campaign will not be easy. We’ll need to run the campaign of our lives to win it - disciplined, hungry, and working together. I know Christopher Luxon and his friends will throw everything they’ve got at clinging to power. And one thing they’ve certainly got is money.
That’s why I need to raise an extra $50,000 in the next few weeks so we can really compete for the best ad space when the election is called. Even a few dollars each, across so many committed supporters, can really help us get to a competitive position. Can you chip in to help, ?

I have to be ready to book the most valuable advertising slots the moment the election is called. If I don’t, Luxon and Seymour will snap them all up on day one. Can you help me stop them, ?
You know, I first signed up to volunteer for Grant Robertson and Labour in 2008, and I’ve been hooked ever since! I’ve served as Labour’s Senior Vice President, worked on staff in our party HQ and in the Beehive, and volunteered on the last six election campaigns. I've knocked on doors, organised events, raised funds, put up hoardings, written campaign plans, made the tea, and helped draft the policy.
Those experiences tell me we’ve got a real shot to make this a one-term National Government. Luxon is out of touch with what New Zealanders need, and the public sees it. This government is making things worse, not better - that’s why this coalition is the most unpopular government at this time of the cycle in New Zealand history.
National may be struggling right now, but I will never - ever - underestimate their survival instincts. That’s why it’s so important we’ve got enough funds available to compete right from the get-go. Are you with us, ?

This election campaign has already begun. The good news is I’ve come into this role to find Labour is in great heart. We are getting organised and ramping up for next year. Our team is in it to win it.
You - our supporters and volunteers - are at the heart of ensuring we win. Over the coming months, I hope to share more about what our campaign will look like next year. I'd love to hear from you, drop me a line here if you'd like to be in touch.
I love this party and its people. For me, people are at the heart of everything we do. My only reason for being involved in politics is to help make change for the better, for New Zealanders.
Thank you for everything you bring to our movement, . We are nothing without you.
Ngā mihi, Beth
