The countdown clock may not reflect your time zone, but the deadline for the match is midnight, local time, September 21.
Dear Friend,
The deadline is almost here for our World Alzheimer's Day 2X Match Challenge. In just a few short hours, you'll lose the opportunity to double your impact if you don't act now.
Midnight tonight is the deadline, so we must act quickly. Together, we'll continue to drive innovation, ignite hope and move closer to our vision of a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
Generous supporter Leone McKay has pledged to match every donation we receive by midnight — up to $150,000. Her gift, made in honor of her late husband, Col. William P. McKay, whom she lost to Alzheimer's disease, will support vital research. Your gift can go 2X as far to help provide care and support to those affected by this disease and accelerate research in the search for a cure. But you have less than 24 hours left to act. Will you stand with us in the fight this World Alzheimer's Day?
The timing has never been more urgent. This thief of a disease takes more lives than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.
While we've made tremendous progress with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved treatments that target the underlying biology of the disease, giving us all reason to hope, our work is far from done. Early detection is critical in qualifying for treatment. Thanks to your support of research, new tools and technology are being developed to aid in early diagnosis, including FDA-approved blood-based biomarker testing. While not a standalone test, these blood tests which detect amyloid plaques, a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease, through a simple blood draw offer a less invasive way to achieve an accurate diagnosis earlier.
Everyone living with Alzheimer's, no matter where they are in their journey, deserves to have access to treatments that improve their lives and give them hope. With your support, we will continue efforts to advance all potential treatment avenues because the search for a cure has never been more important along with continuing to provide care and support resources. Will you help us continue our momentum in the fight to end Alzheimer's with a gift that can be matched today?
Thank you so much for your compassion. You fuel our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. We're moving closer to a cure every day, but Alzheimer's doesn't take a break, and neither can we. Your support is urgently needed to keep our momentum going forward, so please act without delay.
The deadline is here. When the clock strikes midnight, the chance to double your impact will be gone.Don't miss your chance to take advantage of this incredible match. You'll be a part of something truly special this World Alzheimer's Day and bring us closer to a future free from this devastating disease.
Gratefully,
Donna McCullough
Chief Operating Officer
