Team —
In August, we shared that in-state tuition was under attack in Texas.
Now, we’re seeing the same attacks play out again — this time in Illinois.
Illinois has become the fifth state to be targeted for offering in-state tuition to undocumented students who grew up in that state.¹
Let’s be clear: We have to protect the freedom to learn for students everywhere. These are victories OUR communities won. If you can, chip in right now to join our movement:
The truth is that students power our communities, our states, and our economy. When everyone has the opportunity to learn regardless of their background, it is a net positive for all of us.
When higher education is under attack, that means opportunity is at risk for all of us. It’s unacceptable that students are being robbed of their freedom to learn simply because of their immigration status.
The dreams of our students matter, and we won’t stop organizing until every student has access to the high-quality education they deserve. Please, make a contribution right now to help us organize and demand policies across the country that allow us all to thrive.

This moment demands we come together as teachers, as students, as people, to build a future where every young person has the opportunity to succeed.
Thank you for standing with us,
