Did you know that just 24% of Americans approve of the way Congress is handling its job?

While it’s a crisis, I don’t think that number is shocking to many of you. 

We’ve become so accustomed to the idea that our system is broken. That it’s one where politicians look out for their own interests, not yours. 

And we are in a moment where we need to trust our representatives more than ever to fight for us. Donald Trump is running roughshod over the rules, laws and the constitution itself. 

Right now, we desperately need a Congress that can be trusted to stand up for Democracy, not their own bottom line. 

That’s why I’m proud to be leading the fight to pass the Restore Trust in Congress Act. The idea is simple: if you choose to serve in Congress, you forgo the right to trade individual stocks. If you want to gamble on Wall Street, don’t run for Congress — our bet should be on the American people.

When Members of Congress are allowed to trade stocks in the very companies they regulate, it doesn’t just look like a conflict of interest — it is a conflict of interest, and it completely shatters trust in our democracy.
