Dear Friend,

Last week, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled that ICE and other federal agents can target people who look Latino, speak Spanish, or appear to work a low-wage job.

This ruling is a green light for racial discrimination and sets a dangerous precedent for our country.

The ruling says that law enforcement can treat entire communities as suspects—not because of what they’ve done, but because of the color of their skin, where they work, or the language they speak.

Here in Congress, we demand clear limits on law enforcement, real oversight, and a commitment to the notion that we see individuals, not harmful and racist stereotypes when we look at Latinos and others in this country.

I dissent to attacks on our democracy.

Sincerely,
