It’s only been one week since Congress returned to session, and already House Republicans are signaling they’d rather provoke a government shutdown than work across the aisle.

Democrats haven’t even been invited to the negotiating table – and it’s our communities, our families, and our future that will bear the cost if things grind to a halt.

I’ve joined my colleagues in demanding that GOP leadership allow bipartisan talks to move forward.
