Posts online have claimed that police estimated three million people joined the ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march on Saturday. 

That’s false. The Met Police’s actual estimate put the figure much lower, at between 110,000 and 150,000 people.

The demonstration was reported as one of the largest “nationalist” rallies in recent years, but measuring non-ticketed crowd sizes is difficult. 

The largest political rally of recent times is said to be the anti-Iraq War march in 2003, when police estimated 750,000 took part. 
We’ve fact checked other crowd size claims before, including the People’s Vote and anti-lockdown marches.

This is false.
