For over a decade, the Roadless Rule has protected millions of acres of national forests in 36 states and Puerto Rico from destructive development. But now, the Trump administration is pushing a reckless plan to eliminate these protections and hand over our forests to corporate polluters.

This isn’t just a policy change — it’s an all-out assault on our forests, our climate, and our communities.

The Roadless Rule is one of the most important safeguards we have to protect critical wildlife habitats and intact landscapes. It preserves critical buffer zones for increasingly catastrophic wildfires, keeps the water that millions of people rely on clean and free from pollution, and prohibits timber production in old-growth forests like the Tongass and forests from North Carolina to California.

This rollback is a blatant, reckless giveaway to corporate polluters — and the costs will be devastating:
|
|
|
- Old-growth forests destroyed, releasing massive amounts of carbon and worsening the climate crisis.
- Drinking water poisoned or diminished for millions of Americans.
- Wildlife habitat shattered, pushing vulnerable species to the brink.
- Wildfires made more destructive, fueled by new roads and reckless development.
- Our last wild places lost forever, sacrificed for corporate profits.
