Dear PRH Community,

I need to share an urgent update. Yesterday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed HB 7, set to take effect on December 3, 2025. This new law allows private citizens to sue anyone who manufactures, prescribes, distributes, or provides medication abortion pills—whether inside Texas or across state lines.

As PRH Board Chair and Texas ob/gyn Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi said in our response [[link removed]]:

“Texas legislators have shown that they not only intend to ban abortion, but also that they have no limit in their will to shame, isolate, surveil, punish, and criminalize pregnant Texans.”

This law is yet another cruel attempt to strip people of their rights, separate them from their support networks, and make communities afraid to help one another. But as Dr. Moayedi reminds us, Texans are courageous, scrappy, and committed to caring for each other.

PRH will continue supporting physicians in Texas—helping them navigate this hostile legal landscape, defend patients, and amplify the voices resisting these cruel measures.
