 Public Access to Privately Owned Lands Working Group Meeting

at the MDIFW Headquarters, 353 Water Street, Augusta
MDIFW is forming a Stakeholder Working Group focused on public access to privately owned lands and the public is invited to attend all working group meetings.
The working group was initiated through a Legislative Resolve that directed the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW) and the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) to examine issues related to public access to privately owned lands. The working group is co-chaired by Nathan Webb, MDIFW Wildlife Division Director and Jo D. Saffeir, DACF Deputy Director. The working group will submit a final report to the Legislature with recommendations and any potential legislation by February 15, 2026.
The first meeting will discuss the tasks the working group will focus on, challenges facing public access to private land, and the working group meeting schedule. There will be an opportunity for public comment at the end of each meeting.
