Hi John,
A bombshell report from 404 Media recently revealed that Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) has been secretly tapping more than 80,000 AI-powered license plate readers via one creepy company: Flock.1 Access to Flock's sprawling surveillance network allows cops and federal agents to track and trace the movements of anyone who drives a car.
Over the last weeks, we’ve watched CBP and ICE carry out a campaign of raids, brutality, and terror against immigrants and Black and brown people in our communities.2 As progressive lawmakers stand up to defend people, there are simple, immediate steps they can take, including holding the tech companies providing surveillance tools to CBP and ICE accountable.
Sign the petition: Tell lawmakers to cut all government contracts with Flock and launch an investigation into the company for fueling CBP and ICE’s human rights abuses.

According to company PR materials, Flock holds contracts for automatic license plate readers (ALPRs) with cities, police departments, home owners associations, and local businesses in thousands of communities across 49 states.3
Up until recently, Flock claimed that federal agencies couldn’t access its camera network. 404 Media revealed that was a bold-faced lie. CBP’s access to these cameras violates multiple state laws that prohibit data sharing between local law enforcement and federal immigration enforcement.
This comes on top of news that ICE agents were already utilizing local police departments’ Flock accounts to track immigrants,4 and law enforcement in Texas used Flock cameras to hunt down a woman who self-administered an abortion.5
The tech that companies like Flock sell is dystopian, creepy, and will always be abused by those in power.
Sign the petition calling on lawmakers to shut Flock down and stop CBP and ICE from scanning every license plate in your town.
Thank you for everything you do,
Leila & the team at Fight
