Friend, as you read this, tens of thousands of civilians are desperately fleeing Gaza City as the ground offensive intensifies. Roughly half a million people remain in Gaza City.  

This ground offensive deepens the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Famine has already been confirmed – over 500,000 people are facing starvation and death. And another 1 million people are on the brink of famine, facing very high acute malnutrition and risk of death.

Americares continues to play a critical role in Gaza, supporting medical care and mental health services. Just last month, we began funding a mother and child clinic in Gaza City, which provides lifesaving medical care that includes acute malnutrition treatment, breastfeeding counseling and mental health support. Right now, the clinic is relocating away from the ground offensive.

Americares has provided 35 tons of essential medicine and medical supplies to Gaza since October 2023, including enough medicine to fill more than 350,000 prescriptions; supported medical care for over 43,000 patients; and funded mental health programs reaching 21,000 people. And we stand ready to help deliver aid as soon as border access improves.
