I’m Mary Beth, AFP’s coalitions director. I’m here on the ground with AFP’s
“Road to Prosperity” tour, and I’m excited to share updates on how you can
partner with AFP to unleash American energy abundance.


Here’s the challenge: When Washington piles on regulations, you pay the price.

Just look at what’s happening in Virginia. Dominion Energy customers could
soon see theirbills jump by more than $20 a month — and it’s not because
they’re using more power.


Here’s what’s on the table:

* $8.51 more per month starting in January
* Another $2 increase in 2027
* Plus a separate fuel rate hike adding $10.92 monthly
Even if you don’t live in Virginia, this matters — we’re seeing regulations
drive up costs for families across America in real time.


If it hasn’t hit your state yet, it will soon. Government red tape and costly
mandates make delivering energy harder and more expensive.


Affordable energy once powered America’s rise, but today, outdated rules put
us at risk of falling behind.


Here’s how that’s happening: Electricity doesn’t simply appear in our homes
and businesses. It requires a vast and complex generation and distribution
supply chain that often needs upgrades to keep up with ever-growing demand.

And demand is soaring.

Here’s the ultimate problem:

* New demand — like electric vehicles, data centers, and the AI revolution, is
straining America’s grid, with AI alone demanding massive amounts of reliable
power.
* Outdated permitting system — simply won’t allow us to keep up with the
demand.
* Coal and fossil fuel plants are retiring faster than replacements open —
and without reform, grid expansion and new generation will lag.
This all leaves our nation less secure, less competitive, and without reliable
energy.
