Now, as often happens, football season and election season are at their peak around the same time. And while I don't often wade into politics, there's too much at stake to sit on the sidelines.

In the race for Governor of Virginia, I'm all in for Abigail Spanberger. She's tough, she's bright, and she's focused on the issues that folks in my hometown of Roanoke and all across Virginia are concerned about most, from lowering prices to investing in education to making healthcare more affordable.

But just like in football, these campaigns come down to the team around you.
