Nonprofits are facing unprecedented challenges. That’s why I want to introduce you to the Nonprofit Legal Defense Network — and ask for your help.

We The Action and Alliance for Justice have come together to create this new network to offer legal advice and defense to nonprofit organizations under threat.
Now, we need lawyers like you to step in to help provide this critical support.

GET INVOLVED WITH THE NONPROFIT LEGAL DEFENSE NETWORK ([link removed])

From federal funding freezes and executive orders to targeted efforts to dismantle organizations and threats to tax-exempt statuses, nonprofits continue to face a broad range of threats in the current political landscape and need help to prepare for the uncertainty that lies ahead. The fabric of our civil society — and our democracy as it stands — are under attack. Nonprofits need urgent legal support, and we can’t help them without your time and expertise.

We know that the organizations on the front lines of movements (like grassroots, power-building, and community-organizing groups) often lack support to prepare for and respond to attacks. Without adequate legal resources or in-house expertise, these nonprofits urgently need resources to protect their missions.

Between you and Alliance for Justice’s Bolder Advocacy program’s trusted expertise in nonprofit compliance, we can significantly expand access to legal aid for nonprofits under threat.

Alliance for Justice is providing training to help you get started, and we have opportunities for lawyers of all experience levels to help.

Here are the areas where we will provide support to nonprofits:

* Lobbying
* Data retention and security
* Executive orders
* Investigation/subpoena playbooks
* Employee handbooks/policies
