John,

I hope you're keeping your head up during this relentless time – it can feel like a daily challenge to weather the news cycle, but I'm finding hope in the ways I see queer people showing up for each other with everything we have right now. Our team has been closely following the news in the last few weeks, and I'm sorry to share that there have been additional closures of clinics that provide gender-affirming care for transgender young people. This summer, around 25 clinics across 15 states – most of which are access states – have announced that they are ceasing care or no longer accepting new patients. We know this is a confusing and stressful time for many families and caregivers across the country, so we're hosting a community Town Hall to break down what's happening, the legal landscape, and tangible resources to support families through this moment.

Click here to RSVP to our virtual Town Hall on recent clinic closures on Tuesday, Sept. 30th from 6-7:30pm. The Town Hall will take place on Zoom, and even if you can't attend in real-time, a summary of what was discussed will be sent to all RSVPs after the event.

For the last few months, we've also been working to show up for families and caregivers of trans youth beyond the logistical and financial support of the Trans Youth Emergency Project. As part of our ecosystem of care and resilience, we've been hosting professionally-facilitated monthly support groups for parents and caregivers of trans youth to find community and connection with one another. The next two support groups will take place on Sunday, Sept. 21st and Sunday, Oct. 5th (with more dates coming soon!).

RSVP for our support group for parents and caregivers of trans youth this coming Sunday, Sept. 21st from 6:30-8pm. All RSVPs will be vetted by a member of our team, and the Zoom details will be shared with approved signups a few hours before the event.

Please, take care of yourselves right now, try to find joy wherever you can, and lean into your support networks if you need a little extra support right now. If you're looking for a little extra brightness in your day, click through our Trans Joy Generator, a hub where you can read messages of love, support, and affirmation from people like you across the country. Our community is strong, and we will get through this difficult time by lifting each other up and supporting each other however we can.

Hope to see you soon,
Kenni Cummings
