TED CRUZ: Follow the Money Behind the Leftist Violence

The Left is out of control.

In the days after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a poll found that 25% of “very liberal” and 17% of “liberal” Democrats believe it’s ok to use violence to achieve political goals!

This is shocking, but not surprising.

Leftist violence is becoming an everyday part of our national life. Antifa. Occupy. BLM. Anti-Semitic encampments on college campuses. Woke riots. Assassinations and attempted assassinations against prominent conservatives.

This is why Congress and the Justice Department must investigate the dark money behind the radical, violent Left.

Liberals are not just calling for higher taxes or stricter environmental rules anymore. They cheer terrorists, threaten violence, prey on kids, smash windows, and burn down city blocks to get what they want.

They’re not doing it for free.

Someone is paying for their supplies, coordination, and legal fees. Liberals are free to hate us, but we deserve to know who is funding efforts to turn hate into violence. And we need to send a clear signal to the American people — especially conservatives now under threat — that funding political violence is not advocacy. It’s not speech. It’s a crime.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has been leading on this issue long before Charlie Kirk’s assassination in Utah. He introduced a bill earlier this summer making the financing of riots a predicate offense for federal racketeering prosecutions.

“Every American has the right to freedom of speech and peaceful protest, but not to commit violence,” said Senator Cruz. “Domestic NGOs and foreign adversaries fund and use riots in the United States to undermine the security and prosperity of Americans. My legislation will give the Department of Justice the tools it needs to hold them accountable, and I urge colleagues to pass it expeditiously.”

Conservative Senators Mike Lee (R-UT), Josh Hawley (R-MO), and Bill Hagerty (R-TN) have co-sponsored Cruz’s bill. It is just one of many steps Congress should take this fall.

At a recent Judiciary Committee hearing, Cruz asked FBI Director Kash Patel if his “Stop FUNDERS Act” would help law enforcement fight left-wing extremism. Patel gave a one-word answer: “Yes.”

Violent left-wing extremism has festered in our culture for too long. Elites coddle it. The Republican establishment tried to ignore it — no more.

The cartel of woke billionaires funding political violence in America today must be investigated, named, shamed, and prosecuted.

Ted Cruz understands the stakes, the fight, and the necessity of taking that fight to the criminals tearing our country apart.
