Bigoted lawmakers are once again trying to rig our democracy by redrawing maps to silence voters — and our LGBTQ+ elected officials are fighting back with everything they’ve got.

In Texas, LGBTQ+ state lawmakers fled the state to deny quorum on an extreme redistricting bill pushed by Donald Trump and signed by Governor Abbott. In Missouri, our pro-equality legislators camped out on the House floor for days to stop a special session to gerrymander their maps against the will of the voters. In Florida, all four of our LGBTQ+ state legislators are pushing back against mid-decade redistricting schemes designed to lock bigots into power for another decade.

And here’s the other side of the story: in states like New York and California, the pro-equality leaders you helped elect are working to put new redistricting initiatives on the ballot and in the legislature, countering efforts and protecting fair representation.
