Claiming “Crushing Out-of-Pocket Costs” Military
Families Sue DOD to Restore Kids’ Transgender Treatments
Although the Defense
Authorization Act signed by former President Biden blocks the U.S.
Military’s healthcare system from providing specialized treatments to the
transgender children of service members, three families are suing the
Department of Defense (DOD) to reinstate the benefit, claiming they have
been left with “significant” and “crushing out-of-pocket costs.”
Leftist groups were outraged when the measure passed late last year and
called on Biden to veto it because it bans the military’s Tricare Health
Plan from covering gender-affirming care such as hormone therapy and
puberty-suppressants to treat “gender dysphoria.”

Democrat
Ruben Gallego Files Legislation to Block Military Funeral Honors for Ashli
Babbitt
Breitbart
In a
letter to the Babbitt family posted by Judicial Watch,
Lohmeier stated, “After reviewing the circumstances of Ashli’s death,
and considering the information that has come forward since then, I am
persuaded that the previous determination was incorrect.”
The Pentagon initially denied the Babbitt family’s request for military
funeral honors for her. It stated in a letter that the
circumstances preceding her death — that she was “fatally shot after
having illegally entered” the Capitol — resulted in the determination
that conferring the honor would “bring discredit on the Air Force.” The
letter was posted by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based conservative
legal group, that lobbied for the Pentagon to provide honors to Babbitt. In
its request to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, the organization cited
President Trump’s clemency for more than 1,500 Jan. 6
defendants.

Parents of Il., Judicial Watch win as D181 adds opt-out option for
inappropriate class, library materials
Dupage Policy Journal
“By
standing firm, we forced them to change, and today, parents in D181 finally
have the right to shield their children from this age-inappropriate
agenda,” McCloy said. “This is what happens when moms fight together
for parental rights and never back down. Thank you to Judicial Watch for
standing with parents and defending their rights, and to D181 for finally
listening to its parents.”
With the help of Judicial Watch Senior Attorney Michael Bekesha, McCloy
began pressing the district to respect her rights to opt out of exposing
her child to such materials.
