Elise Selected as Chair of Bipartisan Review of the 9/11 Commission Report


Elise stated –


"Today, as a senior member of the House Intelligence Committee and a proud New
Yorker, I am honored to announce that I will chair the bipartisan House
Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence review of the 9/11 Commission Report
to evaluate the progress made on the intelligence-related recommendations. It
is important that the intelligence community is equipped to counter terrorism
over the next 25 years amid a quickly evolving landscape.”


House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford stated
–


“The attacks on 9/11 fundamentally altered the security posture of the United
States and the way we engage in the world. In the dark days following the
devastating attack on U.S. soil, we watched Americans come together in
unimaginable ways and we pledged never again to allow a failure of intelligence
to compromise our national security. As we mark the 25th anniversary of one of
the darkest days in U.S. history next year, we must ensure our intelligence
community and its capabilities remain one step ahead of our rapidly evolving
adversaries. While the threats look different today, the mission remains the
same: we can never allow a failure to connect the dots to result in catastrophe
ever again.”

Elise Introduces Legislation to End Failed Bail Reform


Elise stated –


“Under Kathy Hochul's failed leadership, cashless bail policies in New York
pose a clear and present danger to the Nation and must be terminated. Today,
Sen. Marsha Blackburn and I are working alongside President Trump to end the
cashless bail disaster. We can’t allow arrested individuals who are awaiting
trial to be released back onto the streets to commit more crimes against their
communities."


Sen. Marsha Blackburn stated –


“Cashless bail and other soft-on-crime policies have empowered violent
criminals across our country, putting the lives of law-abiding citizens at
risk. President Trump is leading the charge to restore law and order by ending
these failed policies, and Congresswoman Stefanik and I are backing his efforts
by introducing two bills to end cashless bail and keep violent offenders behind
bars.”

Elise Helps Lead Final Passage of National Defense Authorization Act


Elise stated –


"Today, I helped lead the final passage of this year's America First defense
bill that strengthens our military in the face of the rapidly evolving threats
posed by our adversaries such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. This
bill will lead the charge in reforming our broken acquisition system,
revitalizing our defense industrial base, and further increasing the readiness,
capabilities, and lethality of our fighting force.”

“As the leading champion for Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division, I am
pleased to announce that I led the charge on authorizing millions in funding to
New York’s 21st District to protect and strengthen the Fort Drum community,
support our troops, increase our military readiness, and assist the families of
servicemembers.

I am proud to support President Trump’s mission of America First Peace
Through Strength. The United States must remain the global leader in
maintaining a strong national defense and delivering on our promises to our
troops by providing a well-deserved pay raise to the brave men and women in
uniform as they work to keep us safe.”

Elise Exposes FBI’s Corruption and Fighting Back Against Weaponization of the
Federal Government


Elise stated –


“As a senior Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence,
I have worked for many years to legislatively address the illegal political
weaponization of the FBI.

In 2017 (the very early days of uncovering the illegal corruption of the
Crossfire Hurricane Russia hoax), in an open Intelligence Committee hearing, I
asked Comey why he did not follow proper protocol and notify Congress about the
opening of the counterintelligence investigation into then presidential
candidate Donald Trump. He admitted he colluded to not inform Congress. This
started the absolute unraveling of the illegal Russia hoax.

Since then, despite significant attempts by many to cover up this illegal
weaponization, I have worked diligently to pass a law requiring Congressional
oversight and accountability. We finally got this done after years of effort
with very strong language in this year’s IAA passed out of House Intel.”
