Monday, September 8, 2025: On Saturday, I attended a gathering on St. Simons Island in Glynn County sponsored by the Glynn GOP in honor of Curtis Piper, a dedicated member of the organization who passed recently and whose funeral was held earlier in the day. An Air Force Veteran, Curt proudly served his country for four years before building a career in the audiovisual industry. After a meeting this morning on St. Simons with a constituent, I head to Savannah, where I stop by the Savannah Exchange Club monthly meeting on the Southside and briefly greet them. This great group of men and women work to make a difference in our community by sponsoring projects such as the Coastal Empire Fair which provides financial support to the Jenkins Athletic Club. Afterwards, I head to a local dentist’s office to discuss problems the office is experiencing with the Georgia Medicaid program. Dental services are an important part of the Medicaid program, particularly for children. Next, I head to Macon in Bibb County, and during the drive, I have a virtual meeting with our communications staff. Once in Macon, I head to the Macon City Auditorium where I attend the Frontline Forward Gala. Launched as the Family Policy Alliance of Georgia and Family Policy Foundation of Georgia in 2017 by Cole Muzio, Frontline Policy Action and Frontline Policy Council were relaunched in 2021 to give Georgia a state-focused, biblical organization that would address issues of life, religious freedom, God’s design, human dignity, free speech, and principled government.

After meeting with stakeholders and discussing joint areas of interests and thoughts on caucus priorities, I head back to our office on Capitol Hill and meet with representatives from Brunswick Marine to discuss trade, tariffs, taxes and, of course, red snapper. Next, I head to an Energy and Commerce (E&C) Health subcommittee markup before meeting with Growth Energy, a trade association representing ethanol producers and distributors, followed by meeting Angels in Adoption honoree Whitney Gillard. Angels in Adoption is sponsored by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption (CCA) that is the voice for the needs of children in need of safe, nurturing, and permanent families. Next, I head to our weekly meeting of the E&C committee to discuss upcoming business in the committee before heading to the House Chamber for votes and afterwards heading to the Cannon House Office building for a meeting with Ways and Means member Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE) to discuss legislation he is sponsoring. Next, I meet with a constituent from Richmond Hill and his two children who ask me questions regarding my duties as a congressman before having an interview with Modern Health Care to discuss PBM legislation I am sponsoring. My final visit of the week is in Long County where I meet with a group of loggers to discuss the closing of the International Paper mills in Savannah and Riceboro.
