John, it’s Jessie, Josh’s Finance Director.
This is a big month for us! You’ll hear more about it over the next few weeks, but I wanted to take a second today to give you some context and explain why this month matters so much.
But first, I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t ask: Will you chip in any amount today to support our team?

If you didn’t already know, after every fundraising quarter, federal campaigns are required to file a report with the Federal Election Commission. This report basically tells them how much money we’ve raised and spent and makes sure we’re following campaign finance laws. Then, this information becomes publicly available.
I know what you’re thinking… why is this so important if every campaign has to do it?
Yes, every campaign has to file this report, but not all races are competitive – especially not as competitive as ours.
In a race like this, where Josh is one of the most vulnerable incumbent Democrats in the House and where Republicans have singled him out as a target, reports like these matter. A lot.
If we have a weak report, our opponents will see it as a sign of weakness and use it to their advantage. But if we have a strong report, we can deter potential opponents from running against us, and even encourage more folks to support us because they know we have momentum on our side.
With all of this in mind, will you contribute whatever you can today to help us prepare for this major deadline and finish the quarter strong?
