Seven years
ago, we broke barriers and defied the odds.

In 2018, I took on a 10-term incumbent Congressman. Pundits and pollsters
said I didn’t have a chance. I was projected to lose by 20 points.

But we built a strong, grassroots movement that refused to accept the
status quo. We won by 16 points, and I became the first Black woman and
first person of color to represent Massachusetts in the U.S. House of
Representatives.

In a race like ours, some folks cynically said nothing would change. That
another Democrat is just another Democrat. That couldn’t be further from
the truth.

This moment was in the middle of Trump’s first term. We campaigned on a
new kind of politics — one that believed that a better world was possible.
One that believed in transformation, not transaction.

That was when we took back the House and ushered in a class of new
progressive leaders — the most diverse in history.

It’s safe
to say that our movement is now more important than ever.

As Trump barrels through his second term, I am more focused than ever on
stopping the shameless, dangerous, despicable threats this administration
poses to everyone who calls this country home. The urgency of this moment
is clear, and my commitment to legislating justice remains strong. I need
to know your commitment to this movement is too.
