John, this is terrifying.

Donald Trump’s administration just launched a plan to roll back logging protections on more than 50million acres of national forest land.

Trump’s Agriculture Secretary has proposed gutting a 25-year-old rule called the “Roadless Rule” that banned road building and timber harvesting on federally controlled forest land.

For decades, this rule has safeguarded critical forests that provide clean water, protect wildlife, and absorb carbon pollution. If Trump gets his way, these lands could be opened up for mass logging and destruction. This is more than an attack on trees — it’s an attack on our climate, our communities, and our shared natural heritage.

The Co-Chairs of SEEC’s Lands, Waters, and Nature Task Force, Reps. Doris Matsui (CA), Don Beyer (VA), and Maxine Dexter (OR) are leading the fight to push back against this proposal. The Trump Administration has tried to ram this change through with minimal input from the public or the impacted communities, and so our SEEC Members are raising the alarm.

With Trump and his allies pushing to roll back these protections, we need your help to fight back and elect more climate champions. Chip in now to help us protect our national forests » [[link removed]]
