Because we’ve dared to stand up, speak the truth, and build real
grassroots power in communities all across Texas, we find ourselves having
to fight the full force of the Texas Attorney General’s office. Ken Paxton
is doing everything he can to shut us down, stop us from speaking out, and
keep Powered by People from registering and turning out the voters who
will decide the future of our country.

Over the last month we’ve spent nearly $400,000 in legal fees fighting him
in courts in Tarrant County, El Paso County, the 15th District and the
Texas Supreme Court.

He’s tried to freeze our assets and even threatened to put me in jail.

This has nothing to do with the law. It’s a political witch hunt — a
dangerous attempt to silence us and crush democracy in Texas. But we won’t
be silent and we won’t stop fighting for a government of, by, and for the
people of Texas.

We’ve faced long odds before, and every time people with the courage of
their convictions have stepped up and carried this movement forward.
