Josh Celebrated the First Day of School!
Josh loved getting the chance to greet students and parents on their first day back to school at Washington Elementary in Raleigh. He joined State Superintendent Mo Green and Wake County Superintendent Robert Taylor to wish the Washington Elementary community well and support our public schools — our state’s most important institution.

Josh was also proud to report that NC public school students are performing at the highest level in the last three years.
Advocating for Western NC Students
Josh is the #1 advocate for western NC, and as a new school year begins, he took the opportunity to visit West Henderson High School and speak to students in their new Health Care Fellows program. Initiatives like this will help North Carolina build a world-class workforce and maintain our position as the best state in the nation for business!

Renew NC Repairs First Home
Renew NC, North Carolina’s disaster recovery program, recently completed storm repairs on the first home approved through a program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
North Carolina is the first Hurricane Helene-affected state to launch its home renovation program and the fastest state in over a decade to begin rebuilding homes with this type of HUD funding after a major hurricane.
Here’s what Josh had to say:
“Rebuilding safe and sustainable housing is crucial to helping western North Carolina get back on its feet. Completing our first home is an important milestone in the Hurricane Helene recovery process. I applaud my team for moving at record speed. Let's keep swinging hammers and getting more families back home.”

Josh’s Visit to Camp Lejeune
Last month, Josh joined the North Carolina Commanders Council (NCCC) meeting with the heads of all the military installations in the state and toured Camp Lejeune, sharing his commitment to supporting service members, military families, and veterans.
Here’s what Josh had to say:
"North Carolina’s military installations are critical to our national security and state economy, with more than 130,000 military and civilian Department of Defense personnel across North Carolina. I was pleased to listen to and learn from the Commanders Council about how the state can best support our service members and their families through the challenges they face while on duty.”

Establishing a New Energy Policy Task Force
Josh has a long record of taking decisive action to protect North Carolina’s consumers, and as Governor, strengthening the state’s electricity infrastructure and improving energy affordability is a top priority.
That’s why he recently established a new task force to help promote affordability and continue North Carolina’s clean energy leadership.
Here’s what Josh had to say:
“North Carolina is a leader in the clean energy economy and is home to more than 100,000 clean energy jobs. I am grateful for this task force helping to determine how our state can build on this economic momentum, meet growing energy demands, and ensure electricity is affordable for North Carolinians.”
