President Joe Biden once said, “Show me your budget, I’ll show you your values.”
Well, let’s look at the GOP’s values. Just in the past few months, they have cut from Congress’s budget…
- $437 million for UNICEF, the UN’s Children’s Fund
- $900 million for global health programs
- $1.1 billion for public broadcasting
- $800 million in humanitarian funding for refugees
What does that mean? Instead of standing up to Trump, Republicans would rather take away Elmo and Julia Child from your family’s TV screen, withhold HIV/AIDS medication to millions of people across the world, and refuse to provide language training and employment support to refugees looking for safety and security.
Team AWP wants to know: Do you agree with the GOP’s values reflected in their budget?
Can you take a moment to tell us what you think of the Republican Party’s values because, by October 1st, Trump’s GOP wants to gut even more programs that keep people at home and around the world safe and healthy — or else shut the government down.
The stakes are high, and with Mary Gay leading the way, we refuse to let you down in the face of this fight. We need to hear from you so she can advocate for your values and keep the government working for you.
Sound off today and let us know where you stand.
The more Democrats we hear from, the better.
Onward!
— Team AWP
The contemporary political landscape is filled with progressive women who are running for elected office up and down the ballot, who possess a true vision of equality for this country's future. A Woman's Place seeks to support their efforts by providing financial resources to embrace this tongue-in-cheek idea of what a woman's place should be.
We help put women where they belong: positions of political leadership throughout all levels of government.
