Democrat,
I want to begin this week’s Chairman’s Corner by addressing the recent shooting that has shaken our country. Political violence in all forms must be condemned. Period. No one should be murdered for their beliefs – not even the people we disagree with. On the same day, in Colorado, we learned of yet another school shooting. These mark the nearly 50 shootings at a school this year. We are unfortunately living in a society where too many students have experienced the trauma of gun violence. But there are proven ways to stop this. Gun violence prevention legislation protects lives, we see that firsthand in New Jersey. We know it works and we know that federal action once again must be taken to work towards a safer America. Please continue to hold your elected officials accountable here. If they are not hearing from you, they are hearing from others who would remove any and all safety restrictions. We cannot allow that to happen.
I also would like to take a moment to recognize the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. We lost nearly 750 beloved New Jerseyans that morning, as well many brave first responders in the following years as a result of toxic exposure related illnesses. We renew our commitment to gather together every 9/11 to honor their memories and never forget.
We’ve weathered many difficult moments as a nation. But we’ve always come back stronger whenever we turned towards each other in the spirit of humanity, democracy, and a shared dream of a better future. Let’s work towards that unity again.
— Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr.

Today, Mikie Sherrill announced another pillar of her robust policy agenda she will pursue when we elect her governor.
Her Transparency and Accountability Agenda [[link removed]] is a common sense plan to make it easier for residents to know exactly where their tax dollars are going, shed light on how state programs are performing, and bring accountability to Trenton’s spending.
Mikie’s plan includes the launch of the New Jersey Report Card, which will allow New Jerseyans to see where their money goes, what it’s supposed to deliver, and whether it actually does. New Jerseyans deserve a government that works as hard as they do, and Mikie will ensure that’s the case as governor.

Trump’s economy is crawling along and New Jerseyans are feeling the squeeze. Prices on everyday goods have skyrocketed and the labor market is tough, with more Americans looking for jobs [[link removed]] than there are openings.
What’s Jack’s answer to this? Putting a “ 10% sales tax on everything, including on food and clothing [[link removed]] ” in New Jersey “ on the table [[link removed]] .”
New Jersey can’t afford a Governor Ciattarelli.

NJ Victory 2025 Is A Go
Over the past few weeks, the NJ Dems relaunched a diverse array of Coalitions programs as part of our coordinated campaign, NJ Victory 2025, to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. Our Coalitions include Youth, Disability Justice, Black Voters, Latinos, AAPIs, Veterans, LGBTQ+, Progressives, and Older Adults. Much of our work is intersectional and we all share the goal of electing leaders who will fight for a fairer, safer, and more affordable New Jersey. With less than two months until Election Day, we’ll be hosting events, trainings, and volunteer opportunities with our Coalitions. Make sure you check out our Mobilize page [[link removed]] and join us.
