Dear Friends,

I am writing to share the latest updates with you on my recent Congressional work.

I voted in support of the National Defense Authorization Act, which streamlines Pentagon bureaucracy, fully funds President Trump’s top defense priorities, and ensures our service members receive the cutting-edge technologies they deserve to keep our country safe.

I also introduced an amendment to allow Surviving Gold Star Family Members unescorted access to military installations. You can read more about this reform here.

And I testified to the House Rules Committee to honor Captain E. Royce Williams—a true American hero and decorated Korean War veteran. I am working tirelessly so President Trump can recognize Captain Williams with the Congressional Medal of Honor for his valorous and heroic actions during a historic 35-minute dogfight during the Korean War. Please read the amazing story of Royce Williams.

Finally, this week marks 24 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks. I was in the U.S. Capitol that day and went to the Pentagon that night, and even all these years later, the experience of that terrible day – and the memory of the thousands of lives lost on 9-11 – will never be forgotten.

As always, it is an honor to serve as your representative in Congress. For more information, please visit www.issa.house.gov and follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram at @RepDarrellIssa.

Respectfully,
