John,
Public radio is a lifeline for Michiganders.
It delivers local news, emergency alerts, and educational programs like Sesame Street — reaching families in communities that are too often left behind by corporate media.
But now, because of Republican cuts, stations like Kalamaazoo’s WMUK re facing devastating funding losses. They’re being forced to make impossible choices: laying off staff, cutting programming, and scrambling to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars just to stay on the air.
I fought tooth and nail to protect this funding. But Republicans voted to rip it away. Now, our communities will pay the price.
I’m calling on Congress to restore funding for public broadcasting immediately. Will you add your name to our petition today to show that Michiganders are united in demanding action to save public broadcasting?
