** 1. AP NEWS: Charlie Kirk Assassinated at University Event in Utah
------------------------------------------------------------

"Authorities say conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed by a single shot in an apparent targeted attack during an outdoor event Wednesday at Utah Valley University. Kirk co-founded the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA and was a close ally of President Donald Trump.

'This is a dark day for our state. It’s a tragic day for our nation,' said Utah Gov. Spencer Cox. 'I want to be very clear this is a political assassination.'"

** 2. DAILY WIRE: SHAPIRO: The Assassination Of Charlie Kirk And The Fight For America’s Soul
------------------------------------------------------------

"So, what can be done? It’s frequently said by those of politically liberal persuasion that thoughts and prayers aren’t enough. That action is necessary. But here is the truth: We need more thoughts and prayers. Thoughts for our political opponents: recognition that while we disagree, they are our fellow Americans; understanding that the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States can hold only if we treat each other as friends, not enemies; realization of the fact that speech is not violence, and that we must, as Americans, speak with each other. The way Charlie did.

And we need prayers: prayers for our country, which is torn apart, under attack from within and without; prayers for our own souls, that we hold ourselves accountable for the way we treat others."

** 3. DAILY WIRE: Charlie Kirk Was Asked How He Wanted To Be Remembered. He Pointed To His Faith.
------------------------------------------------------------

"Conservative icon Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on Wednesday at the age of 31, was asked before he died how he wanted to be remembered.

Kirk, unsurprisingly, pointed to his faith in Jesus Christ.

'How do you wanna be remembered? … [If] everything just goes away [and] you could be associated with one thing, how would you want to be remembered?' Kirk was asked.

'I want to be remembered for courage for my faith,' Kirk responded. 'That would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith in my life.'"

------------------------------------------------------------

ā€œInvestigators found ammunition inside the .30 caliber bolt action rifle believed to have been used in the Charlie Kirk assassination, with government documents reported on by both The Wall Street Journal ([link removed]) and conservative commentator Steven Crowder saying that unused ammunition was engraved with 'transgender and anti-fascist ideology.'

The Department of Justice did not confirm the reports, telling The Daily Wire that the investigation is still ongoing, with investigators analyzing the suspected assassin’s rifle and the ammunition."

** 5. NEWS & OBSERVER: Wake Forest Drops LGBTQ History Recognition, Citing ā€˜Strong Feelings’ on Both Sides
------------------------------------------------------------

"The town of Wake Forest will no longer proclaim October to be LGBTQ History Month, Mayor Vivian Jones says, citing 'strong feelings on both sides of this issue.'"

"NC Values Coalition, a socially conservative organization that believes marriage is between a man and a woman, urged Christians living in Wake Forest to email Jones and the other commissioners to express opposition to the resolution. 'This proclamation does not represent the values of many families in our community, and I believe the focus of our town should remain on bringing neighbors together rather than adopting divisive agendas,' according to the group’s petition."

** Weekly Prayer: Freedom
------------------------------------------------------------

LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.

LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.

Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nation’s Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.

ā€œIt was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.ā€ (Galatians 5:1)

ā€œFor you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.ā€ (Galatians 5:13)

ā€œAct as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.ā€ (1 Peter 2:16)

Amen

Sincerely,

Tami & Team
