With more than a year until the Senate election here in North Carolina, you may wonder why we email so frequently, asking you to contribute. I'd like to explain our position, so I need just a couple minutes of your time.
In the six or so weeks since Roy Cooper announced his candidacy, our campaign has already grown significantly. Right now, hiring staff is our biggest expense. We knew from the start we had to build an expert campaign team with the best in the business — in a race this competitive, we couldn't do anything less.
We're also budgeting to run ads on TV and online, print yard signs, increase our voter outreach initiatives, and more.
All this to say: our expenses are increasing day by day.
The earlier we have the funds to meet these expenses, the sooner we can start reaching voters, telling them about the stakes of this race, and bringing them onto our team. Just as money in a savings account grows over time, your investment today will pay dividends for us down the road.
