Wednesday afternoon, the Texas State Board of Education voted on a framework for the Social Studies TEKS that includes teaching Texas History to both elementary and middle school students, while also preserving respect and knowledge of the United States. This framework was labeled D.2.
Many educators, parents, and activists came to the meeting Wednesday to testify for the Social Studies framework. The Texas Values team was present to advocate for a framework that would not diminish American or Texas History. (View Mary Elizabeth's testimony on our Facebook page here.) One popular choice, Option C known as the comprehensive model, was revealed during the meeting to reduce U.S. History significantly down to 1 year over the span of grade K-8!
Thankfully, the SBOE amended the C model to create option C2 and they also presented Option D.2 to make sure that Texas students have a strong foundation in knowing themselves as Texans and American citizens. The SBOE will take a final vote Friday morning! Please encourage your SBOE member to hold the line and vote for America and Texas on Friday! Send email at [email protected].

Be Aware of the New Texas Laws Which Have Taken Effect! |
Laws that were passed in the Regular legislative Session went into effect on September 1. Read a blog about these laws on our website providing a brief description of each bill passed in the Texas legislature that supports faith, family, and freedom in the state of Texas.
“The 2025 Texas Legislature focused on restoring values in Texas by returning the Ten Commandments to classrooms, restoring parental rights, and restoring confidence in common sense truths like stating in law a clear and accurate definition of male and female. These new Texas laws are what Texas voters asked for, and many of them received bipartisan support because these new laws create real solutions, to real problems.” Jonathan Saenz, President and Attorney for Texas Values Read about the new laws taking effect in public schools, as well as the new laws impacting faith, family, and freedom, on our webpage. |

SB 12 (Parental Rights Law) is just HUGE, we are so grateful to the legislators. We've got to make it known that our rights come from God and they are fundamental." ~ Christie Slape
