John —
Yesterday, Republican activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed.
At the time, I was headed to San Antonio for what was supposed to be a rally for our campaign for the U.S. Senate.
The truth is, I almost canceled the event. But instead, I changed the rally to a community discussion about political violence in this country.
Because the goal of political violence is to scare us. To isolate us. It's meant to tear us apart and make us afraid of one another.
In times like this, we need each other more than ever. We need to be together. We need community. We need love.
Political violence has no place in America.
We have to find our way back to each other. We have to recognize each other as full human beings. We have to love one another again.
Thank you for being a part of this movement to heal what's broken in this country.
