The race is the 2025 Pennsylvania Supreme Court election, and the Republican State Leadership Committee just announced an unprecedented get out the vote program titled “Project Doorstrike” that will flood Pennsylvania with Republican ads, canvassers, and dark money. This is on top of the $30 million they are already planning to spend here, and it's not outside of the realm of possibility that Republican spending reaches into the hundreds of millions. They are treating this like a presidential election. Why? The GOP is deploying the nukes to this race because if they can pull off a win and remove the Democratic majority from the PA Supreme Court, they can kill the Democratic party and their ability to wield power as we know it. MAGA seizing this court means: They will unleash unprecedented voter suppression that will deliver PA and their 19 electoral college votes to Trump in 2026 when he seeks a third term. All Democratic congressional seats in PA can be removed via redistricting, bolstering the GOP House Majority by a total of 18 red seats from PA. If they win here, Democrats will never win a Presidential election again. Simple as that. This is why they are going nuclear.
