Today marks 24 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. On that devastating day, and in the difficult weeks and months that followed, New Yorkers and Americans showed an incredible spirit of bravery, compassion, and unity that was instrumental in our recovery.
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum honors every victim's life and recognizes the selfless courage of the first responders, recovery workers, and volunteers who rushed to help. Its mission — never forget — is one that many of us carry deep in our hearts. And it's a mission that grows more important with each passing year, as a new generation grows up with no memory of 9/11.
