Dear John,

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Afghanistan, your kindness is making a world of difference. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, UNHCR and partners have rushed to the worst-hit areas to deliver vital emergency relief to families who have lost everything. Afghanistan was already enduring multiple crises. This earthquake struck communities that were barely holding on. Yet even before the disaster, your support was changing lives.

At the warehouse in Kabul, UNHCR prepares to dispatch family tents and other essential items to support the response to the devastating earthquakes which hit eastern Afghanistan on 31 August and 1 September.

With the support of our donors, our teams have been working around the clock: trucks carrying emergency supplies have already left Kabul for Kunar, with more on the way from Jalalabad.

But so many more families are still waiting for help. Consider joining this urgent effort today? Every donation no matter the size helps bring shelter, warmth, and hope to Afghan families rebuilding their lives.

Your support provides

➣ Tents and shelter for those who have lost their homes
➣ Blankets to get families through a harsh winter
      ➣ Solar lamps

On behalf of UNHCR teams and the families who can rest a little easier tonight: thank you. John, your solidarity means more than words can express 💙

With deep gratitude,

Monia Hassan
UNHCR Supporter Team

P.S. Thanks to you, families in Afghanistan know they are not alone. If you have a moment to spare, please share what’s happening with people who care.
