Friend,
The fabric of our nation, the thread that ties us all together across 50 states, has been tested time and time again in our history.
Today, on the 24th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, we wanted to send out a message about unity, about compromise, and about coming together.
Then yesterday, after an assassins bullet took the life of conservative personality Charlie Kirk during an open debate at a college campus in Utah, our message took on an even greater importance.
There is no room for violence in our political discourse.
It is our right to speak up, stand for our beliefs, and even passionately disagree with one another. But it is never acceptable for words to turn into violent actions.
We find ourselves yet again in another test. But we must remember that the bonds that tie us together are stronger than the forces that wish to tear us apart.
If we can remember that today, we can move forward towards a politics build on compassion, common sense, and understanding. Surely, that's what will get us through these tough times.
Thank you,
Stand Up
